Love this place! Washoe is one of my favorite places to meet friends for a drink and light supper. Then staff are wonderful, friendly and competent. The food is always done well with a nice presentation. In the summer, they me have a great patio that is shielded from the late afternoon sun and wind.

NOT Your Typical Steakhouse! Craved a steak one evening so I looked things up and came here. It's OFF the beaten path next to a good Italian restaurant and a rather bohemian art shop. Inside, the ambience is best described as state historical with black and white or sepia tone photographs of Native Americans and cowboys related to Nevada or some old Nevada state maps. Very warm and inviting to locals or tourists. Wait staff is quite attentive. I was seated at an "inside table" close to the bar but it wasn't noisy at all. Started with house salad, mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, which was served with a good house vinaigrette. UNLIKE a typical steakhouse, this one had MANY combinations so you DON'T have to order 2 lb. Porterhouse with a vegetable a la carte! I got the Teriyaki Top Sirloin which had just the right amount of teriyaki flavor, DEFINITELY NOT like a bad Asian restaurant version, slightly charred outside but warm and red dead center. It came with a nice portion of grilled vegetables AND a twice baked potato which had crusted cheese, sour cream and bacon baked in. A good glass of Clos De Bois Sonoma Reserve Cabernet fit in well. Wine selections are limited by the glass but good by the bottle. Save room for desert cause there's Chocolate Mousse Tort that's pretty decadent. Paired it with a glass of Port and some strong coffee. A complete meal that was NOT a wallet buster for such a good steakhouse. Reservations suggested for premium dining hours.
