great :) This spot is busy a lot, so that helps with the confidence, but all you really need to do is taste the stuff. It is yummy! I prefer the sushi, but the Thai curries are not bad and are not boiled to death like I sometimes get from Chinese "Thai" curries. Ask if they have mangoes and sticky rice! When it is available, it is great :)

Beautiful place This is possibly the hardest restaraunt to find, but once you do find it it's a restaraunt you'll be glad you spent your money on. I hardly eat out simply because I feel like I literally just ate my money. Anywyas, this place doesn't disappoint. Fast service. Most important friendly servce. Food is fresh and quality is the best. I ate some recommended dish and got it the hottest spicest they could make it for me. Not only was it hot, but it was hot and you could still enjoy the flavor, which is rare with hhot... read more

great! This place is great! I've been to a lot of Thai eateries around the world (except Thailand, unfortunately), and this ranks among the most enjoyable. Probably the best presentation of Som Tom (papaya salad) I've seen. Creative and tasty! I also had the chicken panang curry, which was wonderful. The price is about right for the portions, but it's a steal for the quality of food. Though I went in the afternoon by myself (in town on business), I think this would be a great place to take a date. Eat here. You'll be glad yo... read more

sushi rolls After moving here from Greensboro and trying a couple of the local sushi places, I didn't believe I was going to find one that could hold a candle to some of the restaurants in Greensboro. Then I found Kanki! Buy 1 get 1 free sushi rolls ALL the time and Incredible hibachi! We can go in and fill up on sushi and still come out with leftovers and only spend around $30 after the tip! The sushi is incomparable to any other I've found in the Triangle. Be sure to try the Deep Sea Roll and the Scottish Roll! They change... read more

remember This is the best Pad Thai I've ever had; nowhere else will satisfy a craving anymore. The service is wonderful, and the owner is so nice.. he'll remember a face even after a year, and he can memorize 10 customized orders without writing them down. Crazy. The only downside I've experienced is the wait time. I have a hunch that the owner is the only cook, so it took our party of 10 about 40 minutes to receive our food. But for this kind of Pad Thai, it's definitely worth the wait.

great place After trying a number of sushi restaurants, including popular ones southern Durham, we stumbled onto Akashi and have been loyal customers ever since. The sushi is amazing. We've tried a number rolls on the menu and have yet to stumble on a bad one. And we've also come to love the Hibachi items, the steak has become a personal favorite. The staff is friendly and very helpful. It's a great place to go to sit and talk with friends. We highly recommend it.

welcoming We have enjoyed this restaurant several times. They are always welcoming to our well behaved bistro dog. Their outside seating is nice. They have a very good wine list and every food item we have tried has been delicious. The catfish was marvelous.

Sushi Thai I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to Thai food. I've never been to Thailand, but I have eaten a lot of food at Thai restaurants. This place is amazing. I've had nearly everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. Additionally, as a bonus, their portions are large and their prices are reasonable. In the area, I've been to Twisted Noodles (Durham), Champa (Raleigh/Brier Creek) and Sushi Thai (Cary). In DC, Mai Tai, Sala Thai, The Old Siam, Thai Chili. In Arlington, VA, Thaiphoon, Sala Thai, Cafe Asia and B... read more

good restaurant This is a really good restaurant with a sleek, modern vibe. To be honest, it doesn't fit in its location, but the food is definitely worthwhile. While the prices may not be as enticing as Akashi and Shiki, the food is excellent, and the service is top notch. For starters, I absolutely recommend getting either the Chicken Lettuce Wraps or the Fried Tofu. Both are delicious. All of their rolls are good. I also really like the Albacore, Salmon and White Tuna.
