I’ve worn glasses for many years. My eyesight is not great and glasses are absolutely essential. My experience at Warby in Silverlake was extremely thorough and professional, and reasonably priced compared to my past exams and purchases.
Just Ok and When Did Warby Parker Get So Expensive? I’ve been a longtime Warby Parker customer and have followed the brand for over a decade. I purchased my first pair of prescription glasses in 2011 for $95. In 2020, with vision insurance, I purchased prescription sunglasses and replaced the lenses in my glasses for around $75. Fast-forward to today: without vision insurance, an eye exam, a new pair of glasses, and prescription sunglasses with a mild prescription came to almost $500. I had a great experience at this Warby Parker. The woman who assisted me got what I was looking for and really helped me find it. She made the task enjoyable and productive. In the end I had two frames that we both agreed were the best.
They are a terrible company. Just one day before the 15-day deadline, they told me they couldn't do it. They only refunded my money and didn't even apologize properly.
I walked in looking to buy eyeglasses and for 30 minutes no one helped me. There were 3 workers. 1 lady was busy helping a family and the other two didn’t even try to help. They were just on their computers. Stay clear of this store. I went to the Glendale store and they were far more helpful.
