They got me in rather fast , small waiting area and very nice staff. In twenty minutes I was waiting Dr Wapner saw 6 patients. I got to see his technician even I couldn’t see much through lenses that was blurry she wouldn’t listen next Dr Wapner showed up and spend about three minutes with me while taking about his wife and up coming vacation.I have cataract that is almost ready for surgery but after looking at my eyes he said i don’t have cataracts!!! My prescription according to them is 7.5 & 8.5.Since seeing this Dr I have... read more
Both my son and I have seeing Dr. Wapner for our annual eye exams. No more. He doesn't give you the time of day and his staff is not friendly.
I would caution any patient of Dr. Wapner to get a second opinion if surgery is recommended. Dr. Wapner indicated that I needed cataract surgery on both eyes, and was in the process of setting up a pre-surgical appointment. I had concerns and scheduled a 2nd opinion appointment with a recognized eye surgeon at a major eye clinic . That Dr. indicated that surgery was not yet appropriate. Be careful folks! Get that 2nd opinion!
This place is a joke. As a new patient last year, the women at the front desk did not welcome me as a new patient or acknowledge me other than to fill out forms. Very unfriendly. The tech was thorough, I'll credit her. Then Dr. Wapner blows in for about five minutes, tells a story and zips out. Two weeks ago, a different tech asks if I still like my prescription and does no exam other than glaucoma. Wapner spent even less time with me, and the desk women ignored me as I left.
Dr Wapner did not make room/time for me to ask questions- he was in and out of there very quickly. I asked one of the staff, who called him over so I could talk with him. He was walking away before finishing speaking. I had more to ask- but there wasn't opportunity. This was my first and last appointment with this MD. I just hope and "assume" the exam was done properly.
He spent about one minute looking at my eyes and dismissed all of my questions. He did not treat my condition correctly and I had to see another ophthalmologist days later.
I went to Dr. Wapner on several occasions over the past few years and was continually told that I had a Vitreous Detachment, he failed to address the inflammation in the back of my eye, which another eye physician clearly diagnosed within weeks of a visit to Dr. Wapner. After visiting a retina specialist, I was diagnosed with a potentially blinding disease that Dr. Wapner failed to assist me with. I could have been treated earlier if I had been correctly diagnosed.
I would not recommend him. He does not listen to patient concerns. He also does not explain things when you ask him questions. He shows little concern.
I waited 35 minutes to see Dr. Wapner for no more than 3 minutes (I am not exaggerating). He still didn't understand the extent of my vision issues before he rushed out. Very disappointing since I have been having focusing issues for the past two months. I noticed there were 3 or 4 other patients that came in to see Dr. Wapner at the same time as my appointment. I don't know if they always stack appointments like that. The bright side to the whole appointment was a very competent technician.
