Grew up in Frankenmuth,Mi and even worked for Kern's sausage as a teenager. I can get these in North Florida at the Dollar General. Tried some Beer Brats last night and these are some of the best Brats I've eaten, including when I lived in Germany while in the Army.

vollwerths meats used to be the best .like summer sausage,,ring bologna & hot dogs.i just opened a pack of hot dogs from the freezer i bought the first week of November 2015.boiled them & tasted nasty & this has happened other times to. they were dated sell by feb 04. I think vollwerths quality of meats has gotten bad. maybe they're like our gov't buy from china. you see where the quality went there.
Moving out of Michigan Houghton area that is one thing I miss is the Vollwerth's meat especially the skin on hot dogs to roast over the fire!
Can't get any better than their sausage and hotdogs :)
