Beware. VITAS is basically a medical equipment company. They will tell you in the hospital that they provide specific hours of service a week, but then it's actually just an aide for one hour three times a week, but that's only three hours of help a week. For a dying loved one who continues to decline, you get to a point (if you don't know what to do) when you need more hands. To whom it may concern, My father was admitted to Henry Piedmont hospital in Stockbridge, Georgia on Tuesday, August 2nd with complaints of chest and back pain. He was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia. Because my father has been battling stage four esophageal cancer for twenty months and has a comprised immune system, the doctors urged us to put him on a ventilator to help him breath and hopefully recover from the pneumonia. My mother in law was very ill vitas Had some wonderful 24/7 nurse's As for the company they are very rude very disappointed in this company my mother law died alone after we had nurses come out here 3 times in 2 days they said on she is ok . I wouldn't let these people take care of any one I love everything again .
Vitas was called in to help take care of my daddy, who was in his final week if life, battling cancer. Each and every visiting nurse, aid and chaplain was Amazing. They treated my family with dignity, respect and most of all Love. I can not say enough kind words about the care Vita's gave to us all. Thank you all and God bless!
