BBQ for people who don't know BBQ – This is a great way to better understand the meaning of disappointment. I have no idea why people flock to this place, other than they don't know what BBQ is supposed to taste like. If you've had real BBQ in the south or the South West, you're going to yawn at the flavor (bland spice, so-so sauce that you often have to pour yourself over overcooked red meat and dry pulled pork on an uninspired menu), harrumph at the portions (only the ribs are big enough, but they're inarftully sitting on ... read more

Village Smokehouse is best BBQ around! Looking for some great beef ribs? The Village Smokehouse has them! Great atmosphere, pit in front of you, smells delicious as soon as you walk in, gives you plenty of paper towels and wipes, and lots of BBQ choices.

Village Smokehouse is a good local gem. This restaurant has amazing ribs and barbeque. I have had the Barbeque Chicken, which was not only filling, but was delicious and savory. The prices are very fair, especially if you go for lunch. The one thing to know is that the meat entrees don't come with sides so you need to purchase those as well. Also, there is not ample parking near the restaurant, but it is right beside the Brookline Village t stop.

Could be so awesome I don't know if this is the same owner as the place in Lowell but we have tried this place 3 times now - giving it the benefit of the doubt each time. the atmosphere is fantastic - they really did a great job on the renovation.however, the food is absolutely terrible. firstly, the cornbread is cold. it's not hard to heat cornbread. it's the 1st impression. the BBQ - isn't even BBQ... one type of rib. no sauces. meat was tough. again, how hard to braise meat all day... not hard. on top of all this - the wa... read more

Great BBQ This is a great BBQ place with great atmosphere in Brookline Village, not far from the medical district in Boston. Great for lunch and dinner with great prices and weekend entertainment. The corn bread is a must have!

This Brookline Village barbecue barn offers authentic Texas barbecue in a setting reminiscent of the Ponderosa. – The Scene With a grill center stage, tin ceiling, wood walls and photographic gallery of Hollywood cowboy stars (and the three Stooges), there's a sense of fun and frivolity to the place that makes you want to order a platter of ribs and a cold beer. It's a great spot for drinks and dinner after work. Cold bottles of Lone Star beer and posted Hank Williams lyrics make this a Texas embassy in the heart of Brooklin... read more

Great Eats! – I have been to the Village Smokehouse several times and it is always a treat. The cornbread at the beginning of the meal is great, as are the beans that are included with dinner entrees. While sometimes the service could be better, the fun decor and great food always makes me return to this restaurant.

Not really BBQ – We are from Southern Californis and used to Lucille's BBQ. We tried the Village Smokehouse and were extremely disappointed. Our BBQ food was served without BBQ sauce on it; we had to add our own at the table. The selection was limited in my opinion. The salad was wilted. Won't go back.

Below Average Food – My husband had the BBQ Pulled Pork and it was very dry. I had the ribs and they were pretty tender but the sauce was nothing to rave about. The mashed potatoes were instant which was a surprise to me at a bbq restaurant. They were not good! The cornbread was very good. This was my first visit and overall I'd say I was disappointed.
