Very good pet store I only buy crickets for my lizard at this store. The employees are very nice and know whoa I need when I walk in. I would recommend this store to anyone who wants to support local business instead of the chain that just opened down the street. Think globally, act locally!

Village Pets is EXCEPTIONAL in my book I have been a customer of Village Pets for about three years now, often bringing in my children to hold the bunnies and the kittens as I shop for my supplies. The employees are always so helpful and cheerful as they answer any questions I might have, helping me locate my needs, and "babysitting" my children. I've never been misled or let-down by any of their products or service and the location is superb. I highly disagree with the above reviews, I can not believe that they are, in any ... read more

A little of this and that As with everything, there are positives and negatives to Village Pets. I go to a number of pet stores depending upon where I am what kind of time I have and what I need. Village pets is one of the closer pet shops to my home. I have made purchases there at times because of that. Generally, I find that the prices can be a little higher than at the BIG pet stores, I don't mind because it's a local business and it is convenient. The staff have ALWAYS been great. They ask if I need help if I seem to be ... read more

Unprofessional, untrustworthy, shady business practices In December of 2004 I purchased a Chihuahua puppy from Village Pets for $600. I was told that the mother of this puppy was a 5lb Chihuahua and the father was a 6lb Chihuahua. Less than 1 year later my puppy weighs 12lbs and I have been told by his vet he is a Terrier mix. I went and spoke to the owner (after leaving several messages) and told her of the problem. I also showed her a picture of the dog (he looks nothing like a Chihuahua). She said that my vet didn't know ... read more

Made my kids upset Even young kids are well informed these days (if you're a good parent and getting them a good education). The days of keeping live animals (lots of them) in small, cramped spaces and being sold as products to kids who will quickly lose interest should be over by now. Go to the SPCA and adopt healthy pets who need homes. Do the right thing for the world and for your kids. They have some decent dog food choices, but I had to take sad kids home because they were convinced the animals were sad and scared.

Pet store. When I was younger, I purchased many dwarf hamsters from this particular store. A friend of mine recommended me to this store since he purchased many supplies and more for the dwarf hamsters he bred. I never had a hard time finding a younger hamster here. It was fairly expensive, but I felt it was worth it. I recall crickets hopping around the store, since they got loose from the aquariums. It was a little unsettling seeing so many smooshed on the ground. Hopefully that isn't a problem anymore.

Expensive and below average I cannot recommend this store. We saw it as we were driving by and needed guinea pig food, so we stopped. We purchased a few pounds of guinea pig food. Upon leaving the store, we noticed many bugs in the food. We took it back in but they didn't want to give us a refund. they said it was the time of year and all stores would have the bugs in their food. they told us to freeze it to kill the bugs before giving it to our guinea pig. We ended up throwing it away and buying it from a different store wh... read more

What's wrong with the Owner? Why would having contact with the owner of this pet store have the deciding fate of whether the pet store is of quality business practices or not? How about you try to contact the owner of Petco? Good luck morons. As for my personal opinion on the store, I enjoy it. I've seen the employees work to keep it clean, and I have always been doted on. They always have the Nutro dog food I need, and IT IS competitive with Petco prices (it's lower!). I will continue to shop at this pet store as I have no ... read more

Selling Unaltered kittens I don't like the fact that they sell kittens without them being spay/neutered nor do they provide any information on where to get it done. They are working against all the animal welfare groups that work so hard to promote the importance of spay/neuter to reduce the problem of unwanted pets and over-population. Village Pets is making a profit while perpetuating the problem. Shame on them.
