Dr. Schwartz is a very caring, extremely gentle dentist. His practice is small - I have never had to wait with other patients in his waiting room. His prices are, in my opinion, very reasonable. He has had the same hygienist (sp?) during the 9 years I have known him - she is also great, very gentle and efficient (cleaning appts. usually take less than 30 minutes including exam by Dr. Schwartz). I have recommended him to others who were very pleased.
In my lifetime I have been to many dentists, but Dr. Schwartz is the best. The office makes you feel completely at ease and there is no pain. Quality of work is excellent. Everything is professional yet friendly. It is a small office were you are top priority, not just one of the masses.
I have visited many many dentists throughout my life and Dr. Schwartz and his staff are the most pleasant, kind, helpful people. The dentist chair has never been my favorite place to be, but cleanings, exams, checkups, and cavities fillings have alwasy been a breeze with these people. They are very gentle and relaxing and take extra care to treat their patients very very carefully. I couldn't give a higer recommendation.
Although his work as a dentist is very good and his chair-side manners are exceptional, his billing is unethical. In the case of installing a crown, he failed to tell me the price went up over twenty dollars; plus, he will quote a lower price for the insurance company to pay and higher price for you to cover. I have been in contact with the Oregon Insurance Commission and they agree this is very unethical -- however, they are many dentists who use this form of balanced billing.
