This place is full of money driven monsters! I have never been in such a cold place and seen so many heartless people in my life. I brought my sweet dog there with hope and all they care about was getting thousands of dollars from us and refused to even give us one answer. They redid tests that i just had done at her vet 2 hours prior. They never showed me any of “their” X-rays. They would not let me bring my dogs bed or her food in. They would not let me see her till the last minutes. They never once offered me a tissue jus... read more

I took my cat here. they decided to go with the diagnosis that she had asthma. she was 11 years old and never had asthma, and another vet exhausted asthma treatments for 3 weeks prior. it didn't work. but NYC Vet Spec, now called Blue Pearl, insisted that asthma was the thing, and let us know it would be 100 dollars per hour for at least 24 hours. they slammed her with all kinds of steroids and what ever. but it didn't work. i asked the vet if he looked down my cats throat. he hesitantly said no. i commented that when breath... read more
We were reluctant, based on all the bad reviews, to take our cat that was languishing and could not be diagnosed by our regular vet to Blue Pearl, but unfortunately, we did not follow our instincts. BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE animal parents. A Dr. Marc Bercovitch, was pompous, arrogant, rude and had the compassion of a dead fish. We are intelligent and reasonable people, but when you ask questions of your vet, and they are defensive, accusatory, and unfeeling in their responses, IT IS APPALLING! This man would be far better off ... read more

Dr. Nelms is QUALITY in her care of animals and concern for the people who love them. She is a rare individual that treats all pets as if they were her own. I have watched her care for animals since 1992 and am amazed at her skills, compassion and generosity. She has helped rescue groups, therapy animals and humane society animals for many years.
I rescued my dog three months ago from the Johnston County Animal Rescue and have established a relationship with a local veterinary office, however late on Saturday night I noticed that my dog was behaving oddly and immediately became concerned. My vet's office was closed and I didn't know where to turn. I found a VSH location nearby and called in to discuss my options with their staff. My call was answered immediately and I spoke with a very helpful staff member who walked me through my options on next steps for my puppy. ... read more
Unfortunately, PVSEC is the only game in town for some specialty Vet needs. And if your pet has a very specific issue/emergency that can be identified and only requires one specialty doctor, than PVSEC may work for you. But if your pet has an illness that requires some analysis and coordination between doctors, PVSEC is not the place. After thousands of dollars and a process that seemed to be a haphazard elimination game designed to extract the most money at the expense of a sick pet, we decided to go to the OSU veterinary s... read more
WOW! I should have read these reviews before taking my elder dog to them. I have to concur with the others out there... expensive, procedure oriented, and not owner or animal compassionate. (although they claim to be). My dog came to them with three small nodules. She was otherwise in good health especially for her age. Within a month of them poking these nodules, they were all over her body... quickly. Another vet, specialist, told me that it was cancer but that it was clear it had been there a while and was slow growing. T... read more
