Husband has been trying to get a call back for months on a bill the VA is suppose to pay. No return phone calls from anyone ever. This is by far the worst VA we've ever dealt with.
RecommendedSo, I can't say enough about our experience with this hospital. My dad had surgery yesterday. A very serious one. Really impressed with the hospital and absolutely every doctor, nurse and just everyone so far. I was very apprehensive about my dad coming here because of a few things, we live in Melbourne and this is very far away and I've heard "stories" about va hospitals. A really good day at the Orlando VA! New Doctor got x rays
My father, who had heart issues, went into the VA Hospital in Tampa, Florida. He had passed out when getting out of bed. My brother took him to the emergency room. They admitted him. He was in a room with 5 other people. The room was filthy. They said it was important that he get up and walk. After much coaxing he finally got up and walked. He was in great pain. THE GREAT VETERANS ADMINISTRATION IT IS BAD ENOUGH I HAVE TO BEG FOR MY MEDICATION WHEN I WAS WITHDRAWING FROM NOT HAVING MORPHINE IN MY MORPHINE PAIN PUMP. I HAD TO HAVE THE PUMP REPLACE AND THEY DID NOT FILL THE PUMP UP WITH THE MORPHINE THAT I HAD IN MY OLD PUMP. WENT TO THE ER DUE TO WITHDRAW SO THE DOCTOR AT THE HOSPITAL GAVE ME A PRESCRIPTION FOR ORAL MORPHINE UNTIL I COULD GET THE PAIN MANAGEMENT. THE V.A. State of the art and extremely comfortable so far. Very nice people working here.
I am very thankful for my care at Lake Nona. I think they do a wonderful job. HOWEVER their new system wherein one can not talk to any department directly but must leave a message and someone will get back within one business day is utter RUBISH. I had a cardiac issue and it wasn’t an emergency but I needed to discuss with someone competent. I was shuffled off to someone in a office who had no idea what she was about.
