Vetco has the parts and tools for most of my electronics maker hobbies. This is one of my favorite destinations as they have lots of surplus goods to look through. For online shopping, their catalog is very good and geared more toward hobbyists, so it's easy to find what you're looking for and get small quantities.
Vetco doesn't strive to be the cheapest. They don't have everything under one roof. HOWEVER, Vetco works to keep inventory in hard-to-find parts, pieces, test equipment, anything and everything "Maker" AND professional grade...while remaining competitively priced. They are my go-to place when I don't want to wait 3 days or a month from a slow boat from China.
Knowing this people last 40 years for both personal hobbies projects and work as Magnetic/Avionics designer plus Sr product engineering. This is place for electronic circuitry matter and industrial thoughts in good used.
Usually I love this place, but today I’m pretty upset to have made eye contact with a employee as he locked the door while I was 2 feet from entering. Granted, I was only 8 minutes before closing, but a cursory “do you know what you want or are you browsing” type enquiry would have let him know I was there for a single item, and I could have been out of there before close. Instead, he stared at me and locked the door. I wish there was some other place around to buy what I need.
Vetco is THE best place to pick up small quantity electronic parts for your RaspberryPi projects. Local and an easy drive from many places in the greater Seattle and Bellevue area. I have used Vetco to source my RaspberryPi kits for my GeekZoneHosting.Com RaspberryPi Jam Session and Code Carnival and they were very easy to work with. I highly recomend them if you are interested in being a maker of any hobby or professional electronics projects.
