Went the other evening... Appetizer was great! Entrees were so-so. The lamb burger was rare, which wasn't appetizing at all. The Chicken Picatta was mediocre at best, strong canned tomato flavor. Waiter wasn't interested in how my date's meal was, only focused on me and mine, which was pretty rude. Overall, wouldn't go back, even though the service was prompt.
The lamb burger was amazing! Reminded me of being stationed in Iceland when I was in the Navy. Chips and salsa were great too! Will come back when I'm in Iowa City.
We had heard good things, so we were excited to try Vesta out. My family ordered six different items off the dinner menu. The concensus was that "It wasn't bad, but it was below average." One entree was cold, another was stale, several menu items were bland and another had a cream sauce that had "broken." The food was pretty much comparable to Perkins up the street. On a positive note, the service was prompt and the place had a nice atmosphere. However, we would not eat there again.
We loved it! Hidden gem in the iowa river landing. You can't go wrong when ordering the Beef Wellington bites, so delicious! Enjoyed the weather on the patio with great food, and a gorgeous sunset. Thanks Vesta!
Ordered the sea scallops as an entree and what a fantastic dish! Curry sauce with spinach and melt in your mouth sweet potato accompanied the pan seared scallops with just enough tang to slow you down and enjoy the flavors. I paired it with an Odell Cutthroat Nitro Porter and a wedge salad. Hopefully I'll have enough room for the bread pudding!
Really unbelievable! Fantastic meal...can't say enough about the food! Service was impeccable. We sat at the bar, the bartender was skilled and friendly! Cucumber martini is the perfect summer drink! The curry scallops were absolutely amazing...just the right amount of curry to enhance and not overpower the dish. Very few (none that I've ever encountered) handle curry as well!
