Dr. Verona is a thoughtful, thorough physician who takes time to listen and understand his patients' issues and concerns.
Our PCP referred my daughter to Dr. Verona. We were satisfied after the first visit even though the office staff was less than hospitable. However, after our second visit, we will not be returning. News of confirmed seizure activity was delivered via a phone call from a nurse with zero guidance provided. An Rx was called in and when she asked for a follow up appointment to discuss the results of the EEG, she was denied and told to just take the meds for a month or so and then come back. After a trip to the ER for multiple ep... read more
I was a little nervous due to the wide range of reviews, however, I really liked him. He was extremely thorough and listened to all of my concerns. He asked questions and you could tell he would think about your response before making his opinion. He was friendly and so was his staff. I appreciate how much time he spent addressing my concerns and talking me through the treatment plan.
Excellent care, he is compassionate, he listens and is quite thorough. After 4 doctors I finally found a doctor who is knowledgeable and I felt he is actually concerned instead of giving me a pat response like the other doctors. The plan of action, testing and solutions are so welcome after 5 months of attempting to obtain help. I highly recommend this doctor.
Each time I have seen Dr. Verona, I have been extremely impressed by him. He had obviously gone through my medical history before he enters the exam room and knows exactly what I am there for. I feel he listens to what I have to say and seems to have a solution that works for me. He spends the necessary time with me. Before I met Dr. Verona, I was sent to two other neurologists who did not pay any attention to my health concerns so they were of no help at all. They wanted to put me into the category of their specialties. Fin... read more
Dr. enters room with no greeting. Doesn’t acknowledge my wife’s presence until she asked a question. Plays “watch my finger” and follows me 10 steps down the hall. “You had an MRI a couple of years ago. You don’t need another. See someone for your depression.” No follow up suggested. Some background. I missed two appointments. I frankly don’t recall the first one. Second I left Bastrop a half hour early. I got behind a wreck plus, of course, construction and detours. Arrived 17 minutes late. I was told they wouldn’t re-ached... read more
The first time I went to see Dr. Verona, I was so impressed because he had reviewed all my previous records before coming in to see me. Therefore, he was very informed about my situation. I had been to a neurologist before going to Dr. Verona, and because of my age, the staff started giving me memory tests and all that doctor talked about concerned memory loss and ways to prevent that. That was obviously her specialty. My memory is just fine, and I was not concerned about that. Dr. Verona listened to my situation and made th... read more
Do not trust this man with your loved one. After my mother developed dementia she was referred to Dr. Verona for evaluation. After months of tests and scans, his diagnosis was nonspecific and he said that she “could improve over the next year.” But, she got progressively worse. I called his office to set up follow up appointments/ evaluations, stressing my mother’s deteriorating condition. I was ignored. In Texas, in order for someone to be protected from themselves, the input of a neurologist is critical— particularly when ... read more
I went to see Dr. Verona about a possible sinus migraine. The offices were shabby, there was a large dead cockroach in the bathroom and when I told the front desk they just shrugged it off. I then saw Dr. Verona and after a brief conversation about my history and symptoms, he began asking me about my birth control use after I told him that I used a barrier method he then stated that either my husband or myself should consider tubal ligation. I told him I wasn't interested but he made several more comments about how it's some... read more
