Veracruz Cafe, as its name suggests, specializes in the cuisine of the Veracruz city in Mexico. This historic city has unique soil and climate that favors the growth of various vegetables, fruits, herbs and seasonings. These ingredients are combined here to reproduce authentic and flavorful recipes. The interiors resemble those of a typical café in Veracruz, replete with colonial grandeur. Textured, plum-colored walls are decorated with vibrant artworks in a spectrum of hues. The place seems to burst with color throug... read more

very good food - a little pricey for lunch, but the food was of very good quality. Great atmosphere in a fun section of town.Ample parking down the street.
Beware - If you order Snapper they will serve you Tilapia – I've eaten at Vera Cruz more than 25 times. On my last approx. 6 visits I've ordered the Snapper from there menu. Each time I've questioned the food that I received? My last two visits I asked the waiter what the fish was and he told on both visits Tilapia. I asked why he didn't mention that when I ordered Snapper and he said he was told not to. That is just WRONG!
Great Fish Tacos – Very friendly staff and unique decor. I can't get enough of their fish taco's and their salsa is simply amazing!
Wonderful Food & Romantic Ambiance – I first tried Veracruz Cafe after reading their 5 star review in "Gourmet" magazine. The intimate space was rich, romantic and warm but not pretentious. The clientele is a mixture of Kessler/Stevens area locals, residents from all over Dallas and surrounding suburbs, national & international tourists are all finding their way to Veracruz Cafe for a memorable dining experience. The menu is authentic coastal Veracruz style cuisine using ingredients from ancient Aztec and Mayan recipes. Ever... read more
Authentic, homemade Mexican not TexMex food prepared with care with very attentive service at a great price. – Four of us ate here on a Sunday night. The restaurant is small but the atmosphere is great and the two servers (owners) were fantastic and extremely attentive and accommodating. We had a very large Cactus salad and while my son and daughter-in-law asked to share one salad, the "1/2 portions" were really full servings! The dressings were refined and delicious. We had enchiladas with queso fresco and asked to have two... read more
LOVE IT - Awesome food, great & friendly service – This is my new favorite place. I've already been 3 times in one month. The Adobo Pork is succulent and the blue corn chicken enchiladas are some of the best around. And yes the salsa is wonderful! The service is very attentive and friendly without being too much. Yes, it is a TINY place but that adds to the charm I think. But on that note, the last time I went the gentleman told me they've already leased the space next door and are expanding. Yea!!!
good but smalllllll! – hidden.... it is off the beaten path in the Bishops District. Service is polite and quick. Good thing since there are only a few tables and they are VERY close together! its almost always crowded no matter what time of day. I have had the enchiladas-excellent. My friend had carne asada and was disappointed. Margaritas are excellent! I dont think I would wait for a table though unless it was a quick turn. No place to hang out to wait. dont even think of taking kids or large parties (more than 4) there!
Sample authentic dishes from coastal Mexico's Veracruz in the Bishop Arts District. – In Short Look for the potted palms outside to find this tucked-away spot. Two features will strike patrons: dramatic blood-red walls and the small dining room--it seats 24. The menu includes choices seemingly familiar to Tex-Mex fans, but with unique spices and ingredients, such as the chicken enchiladas topped with pipian sauce, a creamy mixture of ground pumpkin seeds and Mexican herbs. For dessert, the tres leches with mango is served in... read more
