The history of the Greenhouse goes back approximately 100 years. In the early 1900's it began as a six room apartment house. In 1932 during prohibition it was known as a speakeasy. In the late 30's and early 40's it became a tavern serving patrons on occasion such as the notorious Dillinger and friends. Lunch/Dinner This is a great place to eat. There are not many places right in Margate and this one is right on the water. You can sit outside on the deck or inside overlooking the water. They have a decent menu and aren't to pricey considering the location.
Ventura's Greenhouse The Ventura's Greenhouse Restaurant is always crowded, but it has an upbeat exciting atmosphere. Never had any problems with food or service, just getting a seat!
Greenhouse This is a favorite restaurant by the locals in Margate. The prices are reasonable, the food and service is excellent. Usually very crowded, especially in the summer!
RecommendedI was extremely disappointed as I felt the food quality didn’t match the cost. I will pay for good money for (MADE IN HOUSE) good food but charging $12 for 6 frozen (Mrs. Ts like) pierogis with sour cream and burnt onions isn’t right. I’ve been taking my family to both Ventura’s restaurants for the last 20 years and understand everyone has a bad day but the quality just wasn’t there this time.
The food was great with HUGE portions! So much food we had to get to go boxes but the most enjoyable part of the evening was the warm hospitality. A++ for customer service. I’ll be back!
The garlic parm fries were heaven in my mouth. My husband, brother and sister in law loved the mussels and the tuna!!! The waitress was an absolute sweetheart!!!!
heated outdoor dining is fantastic during these tough times. the food is amazing, the portions are large and the drinks are divine.
Great food, location and atmosphere! Had mussels in red sauce and a cheeseburger wrap which were both exceptionally delicious!
