VCA ASG in Los Angeles--no accountability, no compassion, no shame. Terribly misdiagnosed my dog's cancer, which led to his premature death. Refused even a partial refund, much less an acknowledgement or apology. (He was properly diagnosed when I got a second opinion elsewhere.)

Business response:

Dear Ms. ****** Thank you for bringing your concerns about your dog's care to our attention. Osteosarcoma is a terrible disease, and we are so sorry that you are facing it. As you mentioned, our Medical Director attempted to contact you multiple times and has not been able to connect. We would very much like to discuss your concerns directly and discuss what we felt was medically appropriate for your dog's care. We truly encourage you to schedule a time during which we can discuss his case, the recommendations and treatment... read more

We took our cat to VCA Animal Ark 3235 N Kedzie Ave, Chicago, IL XXXXX to have some bad teeth removed he was put under anesthesia for it and during the procedure (I found this on google, based off his instant symptoms) they damaged his seventh nerve, leaving him with partial facial paralysis & two different pupil sizes, a head tilt, & just recently he lost the use of his tongue and has not been able to eat or drink on his own so we have been syring feeding him. While trying to find out what was wrong with him after his denta... read more

I have been to VCA hospitals a couple times for after hour emergencies. I've always found them expensive but have gotten great service and was always happy. However, all they care about it money, especially during these hard Covid times. My dog had an altercation with a porcupine and needed to be sedated to have them removed. I paid over $600 for this. A couple hours after having my dog home I found tons left behind. Not little ones that were hidden, but very obvious one all over her face. I called the vet back the next day ... read more

I'm looking to switch vet offices in the very near future. I've had mostly good experiences here and been coming regularly for the past 2 years. I've had the privilege of having 2 amazing doctors for my animals. The first was Dr.********** and the second was Dr. ******* They had great knowledge and took great care of my animals. I was in the office a lot more often than most people because my dog has a very rare disease. I built relationships with both those doctors over time since we saw each other so often and we cared so ... read more

Your support over all this time has been sincerely appreciated and we'd never want you to come away with the thought that you've been forgotten. That's the last impression we'd ever want you to come away with, as we remain steadfast in providing for our clients and patients in a professional, comforting, and accommodating manner. In addition, while we all miss Drs. Breden and Birkholtz very much, we can assure you that our team of doctors remain committed to providing the same top-notch veterinary care that you were previous... read more

I think VCA Animal Hospitals is only about profit and charging its clients outrages prices. They lack any and all bedside manor when it comes to your pet, I have dealt with one location in particular at XXXXX Jefferson St Indio, Ca XXXXX on three occasions, The last Occasion being with a beloved dog that swallowed a bone and it became stuck in his intestine VCA failed to see the 5in bone with their $800. xray They gave the dog an enema and sent him home I brought the dog back to VCA where i was told i would have to put down ... read more

Careless and unqualified providers of pet medical care. False statements, incompetent care, unethical billing practices and a complete lack of customer service. Their tactic is just to give excuses, ignore you and hope your tire out in your complaints and go away! Firstly, it is the responsibility of their employees to educate customers of important policies of the business, wherein an extra fee may be applied. Their employees have failed to do that and I was charged extra fees for various things that I did not agree to or w... read more

WORST EXPERIENCE!!! Took my dog in because he was peeing blood on a Sunday. Took until Friday, 5 days for test results to come in, they never called me I had to call 10 times! I could have taken my dog to regular vet and got answers quicker. If I pay for emergency care I would expect it to be faster than normal NOT slower. Almost $500 for terrible care, had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. NEVER GO BACK!

Heartless groomers and managers. My 13lb terrier has been going here for 3+ years (Newtown Square, PA) We've never had problems and have always tipped 20%. At her last appointment, she got a bath and groomed. When I picked her up, she smelled like pee. I asked to have a manager call me but they never did. I called today to make a new appointment. After, I stated that I still wanted to speak with a manger regarding it, just to say how disappointed I was. The manager told me that the groomer is now uncomfortable grooming my do... read more
