After purchasing a NEW furnace it stopping working after less than a year! Twice The first service call was no charge, a wire was touching something-simple fix. The 2nd service call, 2 days ago, he couldn't figure out what was wrong so he replaced the panel. I was charged a $49 service call & $116 per hour for labor. To start off, I try to stay away from writing reviews but when companies care more about the bottom line than their customers and contradict their own business statements of why they are in business...It warrants an honest review. NOTE: I would read all recent customer reviews to make your own opinions on whether to use their services or not. Jeff came out and changed out a inducer on my furnance, the part was under warranty, the job was completed in 1/2 hour, he was efficient and very knowledgeable, I will call Vanderhyde Heating and cooling if I need further repairs to my furnance. I trust VanderHyde. Sandra Talsma

Charged more and received less. I paid for an A/C service promo deal ($59 for $185 value) and ended up paying another $118. The "deal" was to include 1lb Freon, but never specified the $27 per 15 min labor charge. Also, they were supposed to check the evap coil and drain pan and checked it off on the checklist as if they did, but obviously did not since the caulk wasn't broken around the access door. Tried emailing and calling with no response.
I purchased their expensive warranty following the installation of my new furnace. My furnace stopped working and was charged $200, I thought this was wrong but paid. It stopped working a month later and was charged again $351.50 this time! He said pay now or I will not fix. Being Dec 30 th and 15 degrees out I didn't really have a choice. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CRIMINALS!!
We called to have an AC tune-up. The service technician was very arrogant and belittling, and after he left the AC was working even worse than before he came. He also tried to sell me a new furnace and water heater even though they still work fine, especially the water heater which is only 7 years old!!! My husband called that day and spoke to the tech's manager and was told they would call him back, but here we are 2 days later and still no call! We will never use this company again and we'll warn everyone we know not to us... read more
They did a great job. My furnace quit, and a lot of places I called said they couldn't even fix a fuel oil furnace. Vander Hyde could. From the moment I made the call to the moment the job was done and the technician was pulling away was less than two hours. Impressive.
We had the plumber out for a problem that he spent 4 expensive hours to diagnose a problem and not fix it at all.We had another plumber diagnose the problem over the phone and send someone out immediately to fix the problem at a fraction of the cost. Generally quite poor in following up with us on this issue. VanderHyde's strength seems to be more new construction than remedies for older home's plumbing issues.
