We had a backup only a few weeks after having our septic tanks pumped. I called VanderHyde thinking there might be a blockage in our main line. VanderHyde charged $571 to snake the main line without doing anything to diagnose the issue or investigate the symptoms. This was the cheapest of their options. They charged $995 to replace two exterior outlets (one was a GFI), boxes and covers. Total parts were less than $100 and the job took less than an hour. They gave me less expensive options but they didn't completely solve the issue. Nobody was willing to explain how they could justify this ridiculously high charge. I've used Vander Hyde many times in the past. I don't know if they're taking advantage of the pandemic or why their pricing has gotten so crazy, but I'll be going elsewhere in the future.
Just before Thanksgiving we signed a contract wtih Vander Hyde of $12000 plus to replace our furnace and air conditioner. A technician from Vander Hyde had informed us that our furnace was about to die and needed to be placed. A few days later a salesman came and we signed a contract for the work. After purchasing a NEW furnace it stopping working after less than a year! Twice The first service call was no charge, a wire was touching something-simple fix. The 2nd service call, 2 days ago, he couldn't figure out what was wrong so he replaced the panel. I was charged a $49 service call & $116 per hour for labor. To start off, I try to stay away from writing reviews but when companies care more about the bottom line than their customers and contradict their own business statements of why they are in business...It warrants an honest review. NOTE: I would read all recent customer reviews to make your own opinions on whether to use their services or not. Jeff came out and changed out a inducer on my furnance, the part was under warranty, the job was completed in 1/2 hour, he was efficient and very knowledgeable, I will call Vanderhyde Heating and cooling if I need further repairs to my furnance. I trust VanderHyde. Sandra Talsma
We had yet another great experience with Vander Hyde a couple months ago. Once the AC season hit, we noticed ours wasn't working well. We expected the worse, but it turned out to be mice that chewed through the wires. Jeff took great care of the issue and also gave us preventive tips.
Great Service! Very helpful and friendly. Took the time to explain everything that was being done. recommended.
Charged more and received less. I paid for an A/C service promo deal ($59 for $185 value) and ended up paying another $118. The "deal" was to include 1lb Freon, but never specified the $27 per 15 min labor charge. Also, they were supposed to check the evap coil and drain pan and checked it off on the checklist as if they did, but obviously did not since the caulk wasn't broken around the access door. Tried emailing and calling with no response.
