About this business

Centrally located in San Francisco's Mission District, Valencia Cyclery has been doing business in the same location, and under the same ownership, since 1985. We are best described as "San Francisco's Family Bike Shop", a store that welcomes all age groups and riders. We are known for, and pride ourselves in giving honest, expert advice to everyone from beginners to advanced cyclists. We are very low-key in our approach to selling. We know that your trust in us is the key to our success, not the amount sold. As a result, we... read more

Needed to find a bicycle shop that sells new and used bikes and repairs and isnt too far from my apt in the tenderloin. Time to buy my 4 year old his first bike and while I was recommended there by cyclist themselves I was happily surprised with the customer service and all the options. Cory helped my son and myself find him and fit him for his first brand new pedal bike. We walked out w a 16’ trek that he LOVES! Cory asked him what color was his favorite and the bike Cory picked first was perfect. It wasn’t cheap but it is ... read more

0 Stars 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾 Another transplant ruined yet another mission iconic mom & pop store. The New Manager (not from the Bay Area or California) Wil Aka Wilbur Nunn has no customer service & people skills!! Yes it is hard to write this but I’ll no longer support Valencia Cyclery‼️ 👎🏾 Customer service Sucks‼️ I’ve been going to this bike shop for decades I’ve bought my son’s PK ripper when he was 7 years old there- Supported the ex-store manager Mike (best guy ever), Alan and at a point my friend Bruce worked there.... read more

I have been going Valencia Cyclery for several years. Paul truly cares about his customers and the community on Valencia street. It is both sad and unfortunate that his business has been targeted by PAID activists because he raised concerns about private cars being banned in Valencia street. This business like many others in Valencia relies on customers like myself who use all modes of transportation. The city needs to plan WITH members of the community before imposing such a radical change.

The owner of Valencia Cyclery was opposed to bike lanes on Valencia 20 years ago, so it's no surprise that he's opposed to improving it to a protected bike lane. I bet all the cyclists who have shopped there over the past two decades didn't realize this. I'll never spend another penny here. It's absurd to complain about losing a handful of parking spots out front when there is an affordable parking garage less than 2 minute walk away.

I used to go to this place for all my repairs but I just found out that the owner is opposed to bike lanes on Valencia. There are a lot of good bike shops in The City, I will find another one to patronize.

The owner is misinformed about encouraging cheap car storage on the street will somehow help his business. Discouraging city officials from improving bicycle infrastructure is in line with addiction to cars, but it's not in line with what people on bicycles want. It's crazy to think that the NIMBY of bike infrastructure owns a bike shop. Sell the bike shop. Open a car dealership.
