After spending roughly 15 years at Mather's VA in Sacramento I had ZERO faith in the VA. The doctors here, for the most part, are not apathetic or unprofessional like I was accustomed to. There are programs for PTSD and pain management that I had never heard of in CA and they do not hesitate to get you into the community if they can't fit you in within 30 days. I live in cda and I had ordered some meds to pick up and said they be in Monday, I called the pharmacy and the person I talked to said they are in and ready be picked up. I make the drive here get to the pharmacy and then say they are not here. Thanks for wasting my gas. They really need to learn how check and not just look at their computer screens
Back at the VA Medical Center Urgent Care. Kidney stones are no joke. The staff here has been wholly professional; the waiting room was quiet and uncrowded, and the medical professionals took the time to listen to my complaints; hear what had been done before; listen without judgement to my list of pain medication I cannot take, and help come up with a solution to keep me comfortable until this thing passes. That God for the VA!
I received wonderful care at the walk in clinic. I was misdiagnosed in Coeur d Alene. A couple of hours after I left Kootenai where they refused to treat me I was admitted at the VA hospital. I was in a lot of pain and they did not keep me waiting. They are very good and caught the fact that I had a staph infection following my surgery. I am so grateful to have the VA to talk care of me.

Behavorial Health Unit, Pulmonary unit for sleep apnea & CPAP machine, Physical/Occupational Therapy Bldg, new Welness Center, previous Emergency Room now 7am-7pm Urgent Care clinic, and CT Scan area as radiologist/CT scan operator's son is class of '15!! Thank you Cheryl, Heather, BHU nurses, intake and front lobby ambassadors!
You can get a doctors prescription here for aspirin if you get migraine headaches or any severe amount of pain. Any other medication you will have to see another doctor if you the veteran have the choice to do so, if not...too bad. Pact team 8 at your service. Go blue team go. This msg. has not been approved by Fischer and pricing. Veterans will need prior approval and funding for their choice program from congress before the VA can make a decision. Until then, hurry up and wait, or hit the street running.
This rating is for the Physical Therapy dept. The staff are great for the most part but the new 'chief' has never served, isn't a doctor and has no clue about veterans and their needs nor does she care about us. Closing down the MSG program because of a couple personality conflicts makes perfect sense in a nonsensical world. She is taking away our ability to do preventative medicine for ourselves and lying about the reasons to do so! This isn't someone that should be working in a position that is in charge of our health!
