Dr. Irrite has been my doctor for more than 13 or 15 years. As long he is in practice he will be my doctor. I am very thankful to him for helping me get functional and mentally healthy.
Accurate, brilliant, personable, compassionate.
I've been seeing Dr. Urrate for at least 8 years. My previous psychiatrist highly recommended him before leaving his practice. After the first time I saw him, I was convinced that he'd be my new doctor. From the start, he gained my trust and admiration. He carefully listens and his recommendations for medications are always spot on. I will be leaving Austin sometime next year and will miss him tremendously. I can only hope to find someone similar, although I have my doubts.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Urrate. I have treatment resistant unipolar depression and he has been compassionate and creative in his approach from the start.

Finding a Psychiatrist in Austin has been arduous, to say the least. After having tried three other psychiatrists to help treat my son with Bipolar 2, we finally landed a good one! Not only is Dr. Urrate kind, he is also very patient, and a good listener as well. He has been a good fit for my son. As well, I would add that working with a competent office manager (Elizabeth) is also a very integral part of treatment. Of course, this is a personal decision for anyone seeking treatment.
I have been seeing Dr. Urrate for a while and he is the best I have seen since moving here in 2004. Very attentive and knowledgeable.
I've been one of Dr Urrate's patients for 15 yrs & I absolutely adore him. He's by far the best psyc Dr I've ever had. I love how personable & kind he is. He has never been anything but kind, understanding, insightful, & has taught me so much about myself. I would highly recommend this Dr to anyone.
