Great Sunday bluegrass brunch!
Management makes people leave after 2 hours if you’re sitting out in the patio. This place is just an eatery for breakfast and lunch, not a high end restaurant. Anyway I had tried previously over the last 5 months meaning since August to get in for coffee, breakfast and the music in the patio, the music which happens only once a month, and mind you I am driving in from East County. I ordered the chicken and dumplings. As a southerner I was excited to order this. But nothing could have prepared me for this disappointment. I was met with crunchy, undercooked vegetables including the carrots and potatoes. No one enjoys undercooked potatoes. The dumplings themselves were undercooked, doughy, and tough to ingest. Southern comfort food for a recently transplanted Floridian - I was skeptical, because I’ve had some of the best. This menu was highly varied and not your typical battered-and-fried chicken, pork and fish. I started with the cheddar chive biscuits followed by the mustard-encrusted sea bass with ancient grains and heirloom carrots.
