Appraiser Tip: Most appraisers only get calls about status, revisions, values too low etc. As a coach of athletes at various levels, I read constantly about praising your athletes several times for every one criticism. If and when it is earned, give your appraiser a call or email to tell them they did a good a job. I can attest that when it does happen it is truly a blessing. 😍🤩😁

Appraiser Tip: Beware of the fast guy. While I realize delivery times are important, there is a line of reasonableness. Working on a review of the local "appraiser" everybody just loves and raves about in my area. "WOW" oh those turn around times.... if you could only be as fast as him, we'd use you all the time". Appraiser Tip of the Week: Clean the house as best a possible. Housecleaning really doesn't count, but its also not a good idea to give the appraiser that the house isn't being taken care of. There is a line between clutter and not caring for the house.

Appraiser Tip of the Week: The appraisal is the unbiased link in the mortgage origination chain. Nearly everyone else has an incentive to close the loan. A professionally prepared appraisal report containing an unbiased opinion of value is a very useful part of the transaction. No one, including the appraiser, likes it when the appraised value is below the sale price. However, this can prevent many long term hardships to all other parties involved in the transaction.
