My daughter and I were turned down by this institution today. My daughter smashed her fingers in the car door, we were told by the VERY RUDE BLONDE LADY AT THE FRONT, to pay cash for today’s visit or call your car ins company to start a claim before they would see my daughter. Don’t go to UPMC Altoona unless you want infection after infection- for whatever reason no legal action can be taken against UPMC either. Awful hospital- I will be sure to warn everyone, although most people know! Oh thank you UPMC for the blanket letter you sent to say sorry we caused you infection though! I will be sure to save that!

My son went to this facility with severe back pain, which was causing shooting pains down both legs. Causing him a lot of instability, and unable to stand up straight. He is a 25 year old, with a full time job, a fiancé & 3 year old to take care of! As a matter of fact, he had just gotten off work when he went there. Before even seeing a Dr, the front receptionist felt the need to go get a nurse practitioner to tell him that he wasn’t getting any opioids....my son was humiliated, he told them that’s not what he wanted at all... read more
I went there tonight with my son who was just bit by a dog and had deep puncture wounds. When I walked into the building before 9pm which is closing time I was turned away as my son stood their crying in pain. I am so glad to know that your staff of nurses and doctors care more about getting home early than they do of a 9 year old boy who is crying and bleeding in pain. To say that I am beyond disgusted is an understatement. Your facility and caregivers are a joke.
Staff was very friendly, and answered all my questions. They got me in and out in a very reasonable amount of time, and the price was great. I'd definitely go back and refer friends.
We've been here numerous times for various bumps, bruises and fevers, and always found everyone from the receptionist to the doctors to be kind, highly competent, and professional. Clean well maintained facility, and we've always been seen promptly.
