Been a patient of hematology there for over 20 years. Dr Poiesz and Dr Wright before him have given me wonderful care. Love upstate hematology/ oncology.
Horrific experience. I have a reduced response to opioid painkillers, which 10% of people with my ancestry have. I was in extreme, debilitating pain while an inpatient for two weeks; I couldnt lay down, breath normally, sleep, any of that -- and they refused to believe me or give me non-opioid painkillers for days on end. They kept insisting nothing was "wrong" with me, that I was making it up, that it was "just anxiety". The best team.
Horrible experience with Hematology and Oncology. If you want good patient care and follow up this is not the office for you. I have almost waited a month for results and have called and left several messages no one calls you back. You are left to worry with no direction on your care. It is like a patient factory just getting patients in and out and once they see you that’s it. Don’t expect good quality patient care.
