I went there for help at the age of 17. Worst experience of my life. I am now 30 and still dealing with PTSD from Dr. Moore being extremely mentally abusive to me and the other patients publicly embarrassing everybody this man is supposed to be a physician and he acted like a child wouldn’t send my dog there for help. Planning on also pursuing legal action
This place is wonderful 2 years ago when no other hospital would accept cause of I was behaving inappropriately and snapping out constantly they accepted me and actually helped me turn my life around, plus staff are nice and it clean inside
I was there for around a week in the adolescents unit. I spent around 5 days in both units for minors. A good portion of the staff were rude and or disrespectful to me and other patients. For my intake, an old white man told me and my family that I was faking my mental illnesses and was only sad because my dad was scheduled for open heart surgery that week. Pretty abusive there from what I saw. The management abuses the staff, the staff abuses their mentally ill patients, and the patients abuse each other. If you can afford to send your loved ones anywhere else I would. Just make sure its not one of the other 4 UHS facilities in philly. If you have mental episode and the ER suggests you should "voluntarily" stay here for 72 hours, understand that this is a lie. You will be there as long as they want you to be.
