You MUST visit Uncle Clay's while in Hawai'i. The spirit he and his staff spread is pure aloha. If you're lucky, you'll get to meet Uncle Clay. He is one of the dearest people you could ever hope to meet. The shave ice, with all natural syrups, is the best you'll ever have.
Welcome home! The best shave ice ever! I have been here on a couple different trips and will keep coming back. I love that the steps are homemade from real, not fake, ingredients. I will never have shave ice anywhere else but here! Make sure to get ice cream on the bottom! The mochi had gotten better since the last time I was here. Also, Uncle Clay is the sweetest man you will ever meet and just talking to him for awhile gives you an almost spiritual experience.
We drive upwards of an hour through the traffic just for the strawberry dream. Well worth it!
