long time parent and leaving after the last rude episode I can handle. I started going to the office in August 2004 &loved it with my oldest daughter - I was uneducated as a young parent though. RUDE....... First of all the place does not make me comfortable. Dirty, old, and outdated. I had an appointment at 9:00 and got there at 8:55am, took my baby in his carseat out in 30 degree weather, got to the door, and they wouldnt let me in because it wasnt 9:00 yet. Ridiculous! ONE OF A KIND DR + STAFF I just want to say that Dr. Umlauf and her staff are the very best at what they do. From the front desk staff, to the back with the nurses THEY'RE AWESOME!!! I've never experienced such great service, and the way the doctor sat with me and explained what was going on with my child was great. My fantastic Doctor I adore the staff and I love Dr. Umlauf. I know she is an amazing doctor. She refuses to be talked into diagnosing illness without one exsisting. I once went in pretending to not be able to talk and she told my mom to send me back to school, I was faking! She knows a good parent from a bad one and doesn't treat them all the same. Please don't take your children to Umlauf!! If Dr. Umlauf treats your children or you are are thinking about taking your children to her practice please read this review first. My family and I have lived in three different states and in Europe and have seen countless pediatricians, and Dr. Umlauf is ABSOLUTELY THE WORST pediatrician we have ever dealt with. Her bedside manner is unprofessional, rude and arrogant, but, more importantly, her clinical skills are highly questionable. In my opinion, her license should be revoked.... read more
Dr. U. is the best pediatrician EVER! Dr. Umlauf has been my kid's doctor since they were in preschool. My kids are now middle school students. She has always demonstrated the highest concern and care for my kids. When she refers one of mine to a specialist, we always seem to get VIP treatment. Her collegues know not to treat her kids badly or they will hear her rath. She may seem a bit gruff with parents, but her patients LOVE her. Please read before choosing Umlauf The doctors in this office failed to identify my son's lazy eye. I have been advised by two specialists that my pediatrician should have identified this by age 3. Furthermore, had my son's school not tested him he would have continued to lose his vision. The school health appraisal form requires the pediatrician to verify a vision test was completed and Dr. Umlauf's office confirmed this; yet, my son has 20/300 vision in one eye. acsjcs I began taking my daughter to Dr. Umlauf at birth as she was born prematurely and Dr. Umlauf was highly recommended in dealing with premature infants. I was always very pleased with her until my daughter was approximately age 10 and started experiencing severe headaches, neckaches, etc. on a daily basis. ann Dr. umlauf and the rest of her staff are top notch. I've never had an unproffesional episode with anyone. I was at one point concerned about my child's condition and Dr. umlauf pointed me in the right direction. I had some concern about immunizations and autism, we differed somewhat but she was never condesending.
