We had a party of 10. Topher was our server and he was outstanding! The salmon dish was great, the side salad enough for 3, the gnocchi beef tenderloin special was delicious. Pleased 10 ladies - I think that is a feat in itself!
When we were seated the hostess must have forgotten about us and we sat there for around 10 minutes. Finally a server came over and asked if anyone had been over to us yet and then quickly picked us up. Joe was an amazing server and very attentive! And the food was outstanding! After forgiving the mix up we were extremely pleased. The food did take a little time but it was so delicious I would happily wait for it again. We will be coming back and asking for Joe again!!
While I havent been able to try Umbria's food yet, they deserve the five stars for their customer service. After a bad run of luck and a water pipe bursting in the kitchen, the Umbria waitresses went table to table apologizing to each customer sincerely, covered all the costs of any food/drink we had, and gave everyone gift cards. The atmosphere at Umbria is great and I plan to go again very soon.
The food isn't bad. It is pretty decent for an Italian place in a small town. From the looks of the reviews and comments, someone needs to retrain the whole wait staff on proper customer service. Every time I have been I wait way to long for drink refills and have to ask for more water. If its empty just refill it. Not a super picky person but they need some serious people in their business who care about their job and who they're serving.
So it was my first visit. I will say that the ambience was amazing. I loved it. I ordered calamari and it was completely bland. No seasoning. Very plain. The side sauce appeared to have pine nuts which is a little scary with am allergy. The board was great. Overall it was OK. I will give it another chance as I think my husband will love the meat board. Service could be better and more informed.
If your a fan of cream/cheese based Bolognese their recipe isn't for you, however we had great service. Crystal and Peter were both great and open to queries about the menu.
