Careful of the Diabetes Liaison scam folks. Umass’s specialty pharmacy has proven to me this is nothing but an insurance money grab scam and they will not and do not help you when you really need it. I’ve been arguing with them for years to simply supply me with glucose test strips as I need them for my brittle type one diabetes that has led to me needing a life saving kidney transplant. I’ve been type 1 diabetic for 27 years but suddenly Umass Specialty Pharmacy refuses to fill my glucose, test strips, insulin, or any of my life saving diabetes supplies without me first speaking to some diabetes liaison for an insurance money grab scam?! Everyone is polite and competent, and shouldn't that be the absolute minimum? But, oh my god, what has happened over the past year or so? When I first came here, I had Ayusha as my liaison and she was absolutely fantastic! She synced all my meds up; she made sure it was only ever 1-month supplies; and she didn't keep pushing deliveries on me. Now, I have to go through this same routine EVERY MONTH!
