extremely rude, doesn't listen to the patient. Her incompetence and tendency to pass the buck to a different department led to me being hospitalized. When I said it was her fault she tried to blame me then her face got all red she raised her voice with my mother and stormed out of the room.
I will say, before my procedures, I read these reviews and was a bit concerned about seeing Dr. Houghton. However, all of the negative reviews were about "attitude" not her skills as a doctor. I wasn't going in for my upper endoscopy and colonoscopy to make friends. I was going because I had some problems that needed to be addressed. I went to this doctor very sick and having stomach issues. I explained everything that was going on to her and she basically just laughed at everything i said and told me i was full of myself. She was so mean and miserable i will never go anywhere near umass again
I went to see Dr. Houghton with some abdominal pains and she made me feel it was all my fault, not an illness and I just needed to eat better without running any tests or really asking any questions. Terrible bedside manner.
I never leave reviews but I feel compelled to leave this one in hopes someone reads it before ever stepping foot in Dr. Houghton’s office. I regret not reading reviews on her before my appointment considering I saw a review that pretty much said the same thing I’m about to say.
