THE BEST GREEK FOOD – I used to go to Mama Voula's on the west-side of town even though I live in Hollywood. When I saw Mama Voula's closed and read a note saying they have a sister restaurant I was thrilled. We ate at Ulysses on a Monday night. Lo and behold the guy from Mama Voula's is working the front. That made my whole party happy to begin with. The food is top shelf as is the service. I had the Lamb Gyro and I have to tell you I felt like I was back at Mama's. On the special was Baked Ling Cod served with a garlic dip... read more
chilean sea bass is to DIE for! – chilean sea bass and the spanakopita are AMAZING. seriously this fish melts in your mouth and is cooked perfectly!!!!! get a bottle of the house red (yes even with fish) and you will die happy
Cozy Farmers Market cafe recalls a trip through the Greek Isles. – In Short This full-service restaurant features a patio facing the Grove and a flickering fireplace inside. The extensive Greek and Mediterranean menu embraces produce from the neighboring Farmers Market. Appetizer tzatziki comes with pita bread and a yogurt and cucumber dipping sauce. Layers of roasted potatoes, eggplant and zucchini in bechamel sauce make up moussaka. Traditional souvlaki, charred skewers of marinated chicken, lamb or beef, are paired with r... read more
Cozy with a warm atmosphere – Certainly not as high-end as some local Greek places, but the food is solid and reasonably priced. I was a little surprised that despite that the canopy read "meze," there were no real meze platters to speak of on the menu. However, I did thoroughly enjoy the trio of salads that I supped on, though the dolmas were a bit tough. I love the atmosphere at this place, however, with a fireplace inside and the twinkling lights of the Grove and the Farmer's Market surrounding the patio. The wandering mi... read more
I've had better... – ...at strip malls. The food was overpriced and mediocre. The atmosphere, however, was very intimate and cute. If it's your first time having greek food, go somewhere else that's rated higher because you wouldn't want this restaurant to be your first greek experience.
Great Greek at the Touristy Farmer's Market! – Delicious and authentic greek fare. Love their fish specials, dolmades and avgolomeno soup. The fresh Greek salad is large enough to share and is flavorful. If you loved Mama Voula's [RIP] on the west side, you'll love this more upscale sister restaurant and their live entertainment in the outdoor patio. People watching is great too.
Ouzo, food, music and accents -- what more do you need? – My pal had his birthday here a few years back -- there were about 8 people in our party and we were all stuffed -- and drunk -- by the end of the night. The head waiter had a team of 2 or 3 other guys helping him out, and he was keen to offer suggestions for the indecisive. The place reached capacity shortly after we had arrived -- it fills quickly due to its small size. Everything I ate was great. There were live musicians playing that night, too (with those little G... read more
Excellent Food – The classic lamb gyro is a must....chase it down with a cold Greek beer. I love this place for lunch and people watching.
Very enjoyable break. – My wife and I ordered the Grilled Salmon Steak and the Greek Village Pasta with Chopped Roma Tomatoes to share. The Salmon was cooked to perfection and the pasta was just the right accompaniment. Would recommend anytime! The staff and owner are wonderful.
