I'll tell you why they have such bad reviews. The staff are unapologetic and refused to communicate with me when I waited 2 hours and still no doctor. Had to ride my bike back home since my car was in the shop. Shame on Kiran Kavipurapu for writing in my chart that I left before being seen. When the truth was the doctor never showed up and the nurse/assistants wouldn't let me know what was happening. So I left. Big waste of time. I saw a female OB/GYN instead and feeling better now.
Women can't use this practice for every day care issues such as vaginal infections. Twice I called after my infection returned and I was told I could see the doctor again in 2 months, and the second time, which was my 3rd infection in 2.5 months, was in March. I am deeply disappointed with the UCLA Menopause Specialist department. After being referred by my gynecologist months ago, I have been waiting over three months just to receive a phone call to schedule an appointment. When I followed up with my referring doctor, I was told UCLA is simply "backed up" and has no availability. Meanwhile, I am struggling daily with severe symptoms. Terrible experience with NP, Vanita Varma. She made mistakes during our tele health visit. She sent my time sensitive medication to the wrong pharmacy. Truly unprofessional.
Not sure why they have such bad reviews. I had a great experience from my appt scheduling to seeing Dr. Johnson. He is the first Dr that actually listened to my concerns and symptoms and didn't dismiss me like others have for years. Yes..I had to wait months for an appt but I expect that when you have good doctors. I can't thank Dr Johnson enough! Staff was really great too!
