One feedback for white receptionists is if they don’t understand something instead of screaming WHAT, just explain that it is hard to hear. Called back and got immigrant receptionists who went out of their way to help me.
The staff from check in to check out was amazing. Front desk, RN, Doctors; everyone was extremely nice and informative. also, the campus is beautiful, so the waiting spaces are incredibly comfortable.
Want to preface this by saying that I am a substance use disorder (addiction) researcher. And I do not agree with their stance on opioids. For some patients it is the only way to keep pain manageable. That aside, my experiences with Brent Yeung over course of 5 years have been mostly positive. He made me felt heard and has helped me with my medications as well as other medical decisions over the course of 5 years.
I will never go back to Dr Alem. Didn’t want to listen. Knows it all. Just thinks an epidural will fix everyone. Kept saying “If it were me.” Guess what, I’m not you. Kept wanting to argue with me. Trying to push what he would do onto me. Not having any clue what it’s like to be me, what I’ve been through, what I’m going through, how I feel. A bit condescending. A complete waste of my time. BILLING dept is a joke! I would avoid this facility. I was over billed $350. On top of my co-pay, I was charged a $50 “facility fee” for each visit. Apparently this fee is for using UCI’s rooms. I was not informed of this fee up front by anyone. This is such a ridiculous thing. Where else would I see the doctor, if not in a UCI room? Why is this a separate charge?
