Awful place. Nurses are RUDE
Unless you have what the medical staff deems as an "emergency" (i.e. heart attack, gunshot wound, traumatic brain injury, etc.) then you should go somewhere else. I brought a friend who was crazy sick to UAB ER, and since her situation was not "seriously life-threatening" (despite her being in excruciating pain and vomiting so much that she was hardly able to breathe), apparently there was no point in treating her when all she had to do was see a primary care physician (which we all know are NOT OPEN ON THE WEEKENDS!).
