Uhaul has no idea how to run their logistics and inventory system. I placed an order for a large number of boxes and selected a local pickup location which was said to have everything. I get there and they never saw the order plus they didn't have everything on the list. I was told to go home and process the online order like a return. I just had an absolutely appalling experience with U-Haul. I made a reservation online for a 10’ truck to pickup at Iceberg Auto Customs at 10:30 AM on 4/3/2021. I arrived at Iceberg Auto Customs at 10:35 AM and the employee said that they did not have a truck for me. He was unhelpful and not wearing a mask. I called 1-800-GO-UHAUL and was on hold for 25 minutes before getting disconnected. I called back and was on hold for 39 minutes. U-haul is a disaster. I booked a 15ft truck two weeks ago, but apparently reservations are meaningless. They called me twice to cancel and find me another truck. The first time it was 30min out of the way, so I said ok. Now the second time, they call me 6pm on a Friday, the night before I'm moving because, SURPRISE! No truck!! Does "guarantee" mean anything anymore? "We have a 6' x 12' Van Trailer reserved for you and guaranteed Thursday, 4/x/2021 at xx:xx AM. If im being honest, I wouldn't give this a star at all but I am simply because one employee there took the effort to help me when I asked. But I am very displeased with this company. Someone stole out of my storage unit. The company never called me to tell me they found my unit with no lock on it. Had to find out my self. The employee that checked me in threaten me and was very rude and disrespectful upon my return. I have never had an experience like this since I have been dealing with Uhaul. When someone tell you that they are charging your bank account/ card whatever they want to that is theft. I have spent the last week trying to contact Uhaul because I rented a trailer and took it from West Virginia to California and they charged me for a toll in Florida. I have proof of more than two hours on hold, facebook messages begging them to call me, emails, and chats, and have been told twice that if the call drops they will call me back - which never happened. I don’t even know where to begin. I remember being annoyed that the truck had not been cleaned out inside, considering we were in the middle of a pandemic, but I wiped it out and rolled down the windows, besides the kids and I wouldn’t be in it until the next day and I would have wiped it out again anyway..and I was tired.
