Twisted Root Burger Co.

About this business

Dissatisfied with the quality of burger alternatives in town, talented chefs Quincy Hart, Jason Boso and Steve Thompson put their own twist on the American classic at Twisted Root Burger Co. Succulent meat, grilled and seasoned to perfection, are served with homemade sauces and pickles, and crispy sweet potato fries. To go with delicious varieties like Bacon Bomb and Big Tex are freshly-churned milkshakes and Root Beer floats. You can choose from the menu or build your own burger.

What's All the Hype About? – My wife and I had read nothing but good things about the Twisted Root Burger Co. (in Deep Ellum), and being self-proclaimed burger connoisseurs, we were really excited to check it out. They've been nominated for best burger, best fries, best onion rings, and best restaurant value in Dallas, by several publications and websites. Unfortunately, on our visit, they didn't live up to the praise that they so often receive. First let me start by saying that I did like the atmosphere. Housed in a vintage... read more

stood in a long line in the rain!! – While driving down Commerce on a rainy Saturday afternoon my husband and I noticed this long winding line of people who didn't seem to mind waiting, to get in the Twisted Root Burger Co. and seeing this I immediately wanted to eat there so we parked and the long line quickly dwindled. I don't hold the parking against them since their job is to make premium burgers not to provide premium parking for me to enjoy while I dine there. We sat at the same table with people that had two extra cha... read more

Richardson Location - don't bother – I have no idea what the original location is like, but we will never go back to the new Richardson place. Limited seating, plain burgers - not cooked to order and the mushrooms were from a CAN!!! Frozen curly fries? Are you kidding me? Still wondering what all the hype was about?? We went on a Friday night. Note - if you do go, send one of your party into the dining room while you wait in line to order so they can swoop down on a table as it opens up. Or if the weather is nice, you can si... read more

BEST Hamburgers in Dallas by far!!! – Honestly, hands down THIS is the place to get the best burger in Dallas. My hubby and I were living at the Deep Ellum Lofts for a yr and this place is just a few blocks from there and we went alot. I recommend the Blue Cheese & Jalapeno Burger for those who like spice (I just take out the jalapenos cause I'm a wimp..lol) The meat is soo juicy and fresh!! Sweet potato chips are delicious, as well as the twisted fries. We always share fries since the servings are huge enough for 2 (or 3) p... read more

Awesome burgers. – There is something different about Twisted Root, and their burgers are great. To the guy that mentioned poor service. I went in the middle of the day, and they were VERY busy with lunch clientele of all sorts. Families, businessmen, and everything in between were dining there. The service I received was great. Smiles all around, very helpful and they seemed eager to please. Customers looked happy too. All in all, great stuff.

terrible service – I don't really have much to say about this place. Because we didn't get a chance to eat! We stopped here after seeing them on citysearch. We walked in on a weekday around 130-2. If I remember correctly they closed at 230 and boy could you feel that when we walked in. The way you order was a turn off very fuddruckerish. No one greeted us no one said nothing. They looked at us like they had their mind on closing. So we walked out. Walked down the street to the angry dog and had a total opposite experience. T... read more

The absolute best. Period. – All I can say is super... duper... YUM. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Just wish they would move it out of Deep Ellum... This place deserves better.

Unique burger restaurant but average burgers – The restaurant's concept is pretty neat. They make hand make everything from their own condiments, teas, rootbeers, pickles, and ice cream. The interior is pretty neat too. The staff is very friendly. The food was just ok. The burger meat was decent but the bun was not to my liking. The bread felt and tasted "dough like" like the buns were not baked long enough. Their fries and fried green beans are really really good though. Their watermellon tea was also really good.

Yes! Best burger in Dallas! – Despite some of the negative (and, yes, that's always going to happen) reviews, I personally think, Twisted Root Burger Co. does indeed, serve the best burger (and, burger experience) in Dallas! Plus, I love their home made root beers, flavored ice teas, and decadent home made ice creams.
