About this business

This is a funky little spot in the middle of the stereotypically conservative Alamo Heights neighborhood. It serves breakfast and dinner, but is most popular for lunch. The soup-and-sandwich-type lunch menu and daily specials have a decidedly healthy and sometimes vegetarian, bent. Don't miss the iced herbal tea, the spinach salad or the turkey burger. The dinner specials are also worth a try, especially the grilled empanadas with ground beef and onions and the potato stir-fry, blended with seasoned spinach and fresh tomatoe... read more

Comfortable and cozy! Food tastes great, not from San Antonio so that's great being my first time!

Had the bacon avocado tomato....aka the bat....thick sliced bacon was delicious...the avocado added texture and the bread alone could carry any sandwich. Added a bowl of tortilla soup.... another good choice that complimented the sandwich.

We beat the rush, had good service, but wasn't very happy with the food. I ordered the Migas plate. The black beans were excellent, but the Migas lacked flavor. My husband ordered a side of roasted potatoes with his meal, however, they were room temperature. Our waitress was very polite as we sent it back without wanting a replacement. Every restaurant has an 'off' day. I hope that's the case. I was not excited enough about the menu to return.
