About this business

This is a funky little spot in the middle of the stereotypically conservative Alamo Heights neighborhood. It serves breakfast and dinner, but is most popular for lunch. The soup-and-sandwich-type lunch menu and daily specials have a decidedly healthy and sometimes vegetarian, bent. Don't miss the iced herbal tea, the spinach salad or the turkey burger. The dinner specials are also worth a try, especially the grilled empanadas with ground beef and onions and the potato stir-fry, blended with seasoned spinach and fresh tomatoe... read more

Enjoyed tonight having a glass of wine and listening to the music (oldies and a little cajun). The food was great ... chips and salsa, enchiladas for one of us and quiche for another. Carol one of the owners and Margaret (waitress) were attentive to our needs and very friendly. Oh, and a mini cupcake for all patrons for Twin Sister's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We will definitely be back!!

Great food but horrible service. This was one of my favorites 10-15 years ago. I wanted my wife and kids get the experience but it all came up short. Waitress said she couldn’t change my wife’s eggs from scrambled to fried so we had to order it all individually. Also, never got a refill on my coffee after waiting 15 minutes for the waitress to find me a coffee cup....Oh well, we gave it a shot.
