It's #TBT, and today we salute the Hood Ornament. The first known hood ornament was actually a sun-crested falcon (to bring good luck) mounted on Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun's chariot. For automobiles, the hood ornament was originally the radiator cap on the outside of the vehicle, becoming a decorative piece in the 1920's when the radiator cap was moved under the hood. Today, very few cars come standard with hood ornaments, although Rolls-Royce and other luxury brands still offer them.

Car Care Tip: It takes just a few minutes to clean your auto glass. Use a non-ammonia glass cleaner and a soft cloth (microfiber is great) and frequently shine up those windows! Remember, a clean windshield is a happy (and safe!) windshield.
