Best Pho Turtle tower does Pho the northern vietnamese way--no frills with a pure broth. The noodles are made fresh everyday, and the stock is clean and exceptionally flavorful. Give it a try, this is truly the king of phos in little Saigon. PROS: Cheap, delicous, and fresh pho. CONS: No frills, but that's to be expected in this area.
Turtle Tower Restaurant has savory authentic Vietnamese food. I had the Chicken pho (Pho Ga) and the Imperial rolls here. The pho here is really good; much better than the kind you get from chain places. A bowl of pho here cost around $5 and filled me up. The imperial rolls were a little bit on the expensive side, but they were delicious. This place definitely prides itself on its food rather than its ambiance, but that is fine. It is a great place for a quick and cheap lunch in the Tenderloin.
chicken soup Parking isn't the best here if you arrive at noon but if you come anytime before noon or after, it won't be a problem. Good for hangovers or even days when you need a nice warm bowl of soup. There are two types of noodle soup here...beef or chicken. They'll give you jalapenos and a wedge of lime...Squeeze the lime into the soup, leave the jalapeno in the sauce plate, pour some fish sauce to cover, then enjoy each bite of your yummy noodle soup with a slice of jalapeno.... for sure it'll warm up your day!!!
