Purchased a 400 amp alternator with all the upgraded battery cables that they recommend. Six months in the internal voltage regulator went out and shot up to 18 volt, killed 4 new AGM batteries, took out our ECM, and almost caught our truck on fire. They did warranty the alternator. Wound not buy again.
Have a 320amp for my Impala. Along with 90amp hours of lithium. I stay in 15.8- 15.1v range while regular listening. Giving demos I see 14.8 - 14.3v with heavy use!! No complaints at all
So far, so good! I bought one of their 250 amp, high output alternators and the big 3 wiring kit. Alternator was cake, big 3 wire kit took some time, to make sure they cleared everything! I had batteries less than 4 months old. I charged them individually, before starting. I waited to install, when it was warmer, I'm 8k in altitude, in Colorado. I got over 250k miles, out of my stock, 180 amp, Mitsubishi alternator! I'll be happy if I get 1/2 that, with Tucson Alternator product! I highly recommend Tucson Alternator!
The fit and finish of the alternator was nice. It ran good for a little over a month before it stops working. With the battery cable hooked it does not produce voltage and gets super hot. Unhooked the battery cable and it shows 14vs. Installed my old alternator and everything works fine. And yes all my battery cables where upgraded to 2/0. I have tried to email them two separate times now with no response. It would be nice to have the alternator I paid for with lifetime warranty fixed but can never get a response
I am from out of town, and was looking for places that can inspect my broken alternator. I came across Tucson Alternator and i'm very glad I did. The man was very friendly and helpful. He explained to me what could be wrong with the alternator, and the steps that can be taken to make sure it's up and running. Didn't purchase anything, but the knowledge the man had on the matter now points me in the right direction. This is a hidden gem. They're the last of a dying breed. Thank you guys!
