Featuring a great menu at reasonable prices, this establishment is worth the drive from downtown. Relax in casual comfort of the non-smoking dining room or dine in the full-service sports bar where lottery games are available. Enjoy huge portions of satisfying, home-style fare. Try one of the many delicious pastas or the famous pizza. The prices are reasonable and the servers are exceptionally friendly. Though the ambiance gets a little too loud, this bar is one of those places where you can simply relax, chat over a few dri... read more

Tryon is our absolute favorite neighborhood bar! – Tryoncreek is an awesome neighborhood hangout. The 50 cent tacos on Taco Monday are rad (and I'm a picky eater). Even if I haven't been to Tryon in a month, John remembers our drink order and has them on the table as we sit down. Service is awesome, food rocks, and the environment is laid back and friendly!
NEVER AGAIN! – I like a good place to go and watch a game but this place is horrible! To me what makes a place great is service. We sat at the bar and ordered a round of beers and my friend ordered food but I wasn't sure what I wanted, quite yet, and asked for a couple minutes. After about 20 minutes, with an empty beer, I wanted to see how long it took them to even see that my beer was empty.....THEY NEVER ASKED IF I WANTED A REFILL LET ALONE WHAT I WANTED TO EAT! So I sat, waited and watched them chit chat among themselves... read more
A short walk from my house that I don't take anymore – Let's face it. The Burlingame neighborhood doesn't have many options when it comes to bars. That being said I was always happy walking up to The Tryon for a few drinks and a bite to eat. The food has never been great (the burgers are "okay") but I was always fine with that. I didn't ever expect much from them in the way of food; no big deal. I used to frequent the place simply because I live in the neighborhood, although it would never be a destination for me otherwise. ... read more
Happy Hour – Not sure if your looking for a place with cheap drinks from 4-7 Monday through Friday but if you are this is the place. Nine plasma tvs and a good mixture of Lewis and Clark College students and the working class keep the atmosphere pretty relaxed.
this place has gone down hill – I have been going to Tryon Creek for years. It was pretty cool with the staff being very friendly and the food was good some times even great. Lately not only does the staff some time seem like they was just a soon smash their head with a hammer than serve you a decent drink but the food is terrible. I am not just saying bad but it’s awful and I have went back several times to see if it was just a fluke. I think that the girls that tend the bar really don’t give a heck if your food comes out h... read more
college style sports bar – It is what it is. A semi- sports bar with a lot of college students. God place to watch the blazers, ducks or even OSU. If you go in during one of those games what the hell do you think will be on all the TVs. If you dont like that then walk to the back and change one of the TVs no one is watching. Dont just sit there and complain to yourself then come here and write a poor review. There service is great, bartenders have been nothing but nice to me. The place is smokey but wont be after the 1st of ... read more
Good if you're a student! – It seems that most of the previous reviewers were maybe expecting a bar straight out of the Pearl! Tryon is a classic-style bar; there's games on TV, food that your mother wouldn't approve of and bartenders that don't take lip from anyone. Seriously, most of the bartenders are of some of the coolest people in the world, but if you're rude and expect them to bow down to your needs, then you better expect to get poor service. On the other hand, if you're nice and polite, they're quite pleasant and a... read more
Cheap food, but very smokey and servers can have major attitude – We just moved to the area and have tried this place out a few times. The food and drinks are cheap. They have a different happy hour every night. Monday is taco night and they are 50 cents, and worth just that. They taste like they just browned the meat and threw in some salt and pepper. My husband asked the girl bartender how big they were because he wanted an idea of how many to order and she got a huge attitude and said "they're tacos! what do you expect?!"... read more
21 and never gone to another bar you may like it – It's not a sports bar, maybe it was at one time but not any more. More a hang out for college students. Service was better last time I was in but nothing special. Could be a great place but... maybe I'm just getting older and it's not my kinda place. Bathrooms are awful. Decent selection of beer although I really want a good Black and Tan in Portland and can't find a bartender who can float it. I might go back if my co-workers insists but not on my owe accord.
