Nice location on the beach, close to shopping and restaurants. Hotel felt dated and dirty. Feels like maintenance is low priority. Phone in bathroom was broken (not that I use it but just added to the dilapidatedness), had to go up five floors to find a working ice machine, flush toilets twice for everything, escalators quit working twice, alarm clock made a buzzing sound and I had to unplug it so I could sleep. I just expected better as it was my first time staying in a Trump property. Not impressed.

I am staying there this weekend, I haven't even checked in, and already have had a bad experience! I am going up for a cheer competition and called to get some options for a bonding event for our girls and their families. I called last week and the front desk person could answer my questions. I asked to speak to a manager. She transferred me to a voice mail with just the phone number pre-recorded on it. I pressed 0 and went back to the front desk. I spoke with another person. The Trump Plaza has a nice but sometimes outdated hotel. The original building was constructed in the 80s and much of the decor is still in place. In the past I stayed at the plaza for business and pleasure and found the atmosphere quite amenable. Depending on one's purpose and activities, the Plaza can either be a very good stop or a bore. Party goers might well want to check out other avenues as the casino tends to be light on people. For me this is a great atmosphere without all the crowds found at other hotels.
