A night off led us to an incredible find right in our own backyard. True Boca Raton in the Royal Palm Place is a small quaint owner operated gastropub featuring the BEST crab cakes on the planet. Frank is the chef and owner and is a wonderful host. A really cool menu , great atmosphere, carefully selected craft beers and affordable wines. This place is a hidden treasure and a must for anyone looking for a great night out!
Just enjoyed the most delicious meal tonight at True! It was gone before I could snap any photos! The crab cakes are amazing, I have not had better in south Florida. Seasoned to perfection. My husband and our guests raved about the mac n cheese, brisket sliders and shrimp. Even my green beans were precisely cooked and flavored. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. I have lived in nine places and traveled a ton! This place has the best crab cakes ! The chef is so nice, authentic and talented! It's fun supporting local restaurants! This is one you don't want to skip or miss!!! My husband loves the Mac and cheese too !
If you want authentic Maryland crab cakes and crab soup, this is the place to go. Great food and pleasant atmosphere.

We happened on this place when we were in Boca early evening...for a change...and used the great Happy Hour to test out the menu. Crab was prominent although the Devils on Horseback (stuffed dates wrapped in bacon) absolutely rocked...but not until I got to the last bite...the "Bun Penny"...a melt in your mouth "meat ice cream l" brisket slow roasted with peppers, cheddar and deliciousness... did I slip into a food coma!
