Liana and all the therapists at TC are changing the game in pittsburgh, this practice is absolutely stunning and i feel immediately comfortable when i walked in the door, ive attended a parts work group as well as yoga at transitional characters and there’s nothing like it in pittsburgh: i appreciate the diversity in practitioners and modalities, and the focus on liberation psychology, so needed.
I like my therapist but as a whole institution, I appreciate what they are trying to do yet there is some unprofessionalism/inconsistencies. For example, when trying to make my initial appointment Charles their receptionist took time off. Cool. But he did not confirm with me if my appointment was made nor access to the portal. Besides him they cool.
While I haven’t been a client at Transitional Characters, I’ve witnessed the impact this practice has had on the community firsthand. The work they do is deeply intentional and rooted in a commitment to healing, liberation, and justice. It’s rare to see a practice so centered on decolonial values, cultural relevance, and real accessibility. Transitional Characters is more than a therapy space, it’s a reflection of what it means to truly show up for the COMMUNITY.
Doing incredible work for the individuals who are shouldering generational progress. Absolutely wonderful humans.
The entering team is amazing! They really make me feel appreciated and listened too. Charles was able to get me set up super quick and easy. They went above and beyond to make sure I found the right fit. Highly recommend!
