RecommendedTownhouse books got me hooked on reading when I was a kid living in St Charles in the 90s. They always had a great selection and a staff that knew what books to recommend for me. 30 years later, I’m still an avid reader thanks to the great people who worked here and encouraged my enthusiasm.

Visited here 2 years ago. Had lunch and browsed all the different rooms. Great ambience and atmosphere coupled with a beautiful setting.

Wonderful old-timey book store with attached cozy coffee shop in downtown St. Charles. Great place to meet up with friends for lunch or dessert.

Stopped in this week for a bowl of soup and coffee during the lunch rush. I invited an older lady who was leaning against the wall to sit with me while her table became available. She was tired and said she is recovering from heart surgery. We chatted and I enjoyed her company very much learning about her world travels. Her stories were amazing!
