My family loves independent bookstores. This is the best of the best!
I can't believe I've lived here for 5 years and only finally dragged myself in here. Loved it! Adorable bookstore and fantastic cafe. Everything we had was delicious and the ambience was fantastic. I think I was always afraid of the parking but there's plenty across the street (although arrive early as it really fills up with the lunch crowd!)
The only problem with Town House Books is choosing which books to buy and read! These brilliant people have put front and center so many books you'll want to read, you'll think you've entered a book heaven!
All three daily soups sounded delicious so I asked my server to surprise me. She gave me the chicken mulligatawny soup. It was so yummy I actually picked up my cup to get the very last drop. I had the Hummus Melt with avocado, tomato, mushroom, red onion, roasted red pepper, carrot slaw, sliced Kalamata olives & Swiss cheese, served open-faced on whole wheat multigrain bread. We travel over 1 hr just to visit here. The staff is very knowledgeable and they have a great selection of books. They make you feel like a customer and not just a number as with larger chain stores. The cafe should not be missed! The sandwiches are great and make sure to save room for the chocolate cake.
