I will be closing my account with TCFCU. Once I lost my debit card and it took almost TWO WEEKS to get a new card. I don't even live in Maine anymore, so this left me screwed financially the whole time. For me to even get to a "shared branch" where I live now is almost an hour away from my home. This past week my card was cancelled due to fraud, and yet again I was left screwed told there was no other option for me, no temporary card and I would be without a debit card for over a week. I like TCFCU because the people who work there are always pleasant and helpful.
I've been with the credit union for 20+ years. And they have always been great. But reported a hard inquiry twice on my wifes credit report for the same loan. Filed a complaint and they would not even call the credit bureau to check on this. As soon as the mortgage closes with a different company I'm going to move to another credit union. Too bad the tellers are great but office staff can't get it together.
Only bank I've ever had <3 they have helped me in many ways, and will continue to do so :D
TCFCU managed to ruin my credit score because of their own crappy online interface for customers. I have a home equity account withTCFCU and the online interface for the account never updates to show when a payment is made, what the current balance due is or if there's an outstanding balance due. As a result, one payment one month got flagged as delinquent and then it ruined my credit score. I also receive random emails from TCFCU with links that don't work.
